More choices for families

As a parent, you want your children to attend the elementary school that is best suited to your needs and theirs – whether this is a strong academic program, a stronger focus on the arts, or a more responsive school community, for example.

Yet many parents cannot afford to send their children to the school of their choice.

Children First: School Choice Trust is Canada’s first privately funded program to help parents who could not otherwise afford to choose an independent elementary school for their children.

Assistance with Tuition Costs
Children First provides tuition assistance grants worth up to 50% of tuition costs per year for each student, up to a maximum of $4,000 per year. The program is currently available for people living in Alberta and Ontario.

Based on Financial Need
The grants for Children First are based on the financial needs of parents, not on any academic requirements. Children First wants to give all children a chance to blossom, regardless of their accomplishments in school to date.
