High School Economics Field Trips

High School Seminars

This spring, we are hosting our High School Economics Field Trips in Alberta and British Columbia!

These FREE one-day field trips are fun-filled, interactive and encourage economic thinking for high school students in grades 8-12. Be sure to check out the details below and join us this semester!

We are proud to offer free field trips for teachers and students and provide a complimentary lunch and light morning refreshments for our attendees.

Our programs introduce economic principles using real-life examples and feature a mix of short presentations, small group activities and pop culture videos and simulations. This format allows students across different courses (e.g. Economics, Business Education, Social Studies, Career Preparation, etc.), to engage with the economic concepts through hands on learning.

Our field trips are taught by award-winning economic educators. More information about our speakers can be found in “Our Educators” section below.

Don’t miss out! Be sure to register your class today for these exciting field trips. For more information on our field trips, please email [email protected]

Quotes from Teachers

"This was way more interesting than I could have ever imagined! [The Trading Game Activity] will stay with me as an excellent illustration of the value of free trade and free market economics. The youth loved it and it was so surprising to see the motivating factors."

"I like the format. Engaging large lecture, combined with a hands-on concept introduction followed up with a group de-brief. This is an excellent layout for this age group.

"I was pleasantly impressed by virtually every aspect of this seminar. This is a well-organized event and my students have done some valuable learning!"

The part of the program I found most worthwhile was... "Interaction of presenters with students and encouragement to participate. Made the workshop more engaging.

"This was a great introduction to important economic concepts. We have an optional entrepreneurial course that many of our students take throughout the year, so some of the program connected very well to what is taught in this course."
