Will Westcott is a data assistant at the Fraser Institute. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Victoria and his Master of Arts in the History of Political Thought and Intellectual History at University College London and Queen Mary University. Mr. Westcott served several years as a political aide for the BC Provincial Government. He has research interests in the history of liberalism, and the work of political thinkers such as Alexis de Tocqueville and Michael Oakeshott.

Timely Access to New Pharmaceuticals in Canada, the United States, and the European Union is a new study that finds Canadian patients are waiting, on average, more than 450 days longer than Americans and Europeans to access new, potentially life-saving drugs. That’s because pharmaceutical companies are reluctant to launch new drugs in Canada because of a number of factors including the smaller market size, weaker intellectual property protections, and the federal government’s strict pricing policies.
