John Baden is the chairman of the Foundation for Research on Economics and the Environment in Bozeman, Montana, which he founded in 1985. After completing his PhD in 1969, Dr. Baden was awarded a National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellowship in environmental policy. In 1980, he founded the Political Economy Research Center (PERC, now the Property and Environment Research Center). He is the author of approximately 250 op-ed columns, the contributing author or editor of seven books, and the author of numerous academic articles.
