About the Webinar

This webinar provides a general overview of the Canadian banking system in its pre-Bank of Canada days, when it was amongst the less regulated, and more stable and efficient, banking systems in the world. The discussion will contrast it with the U.S. system of that same period. It will also examine the Canadian government’s reasons for establishing a central bank in 1935, and for embracing deposit insurance in 1967.

This is a previously recorded webinar. The recording includes a 30-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute question and answer period by LIVE attendees. If you are interested in attending one of our upcoming webinars, look under the Upcoming Events tab.
